Three Mistakes That Can Kill Your Creativity

Are you open to being more creative this week?

✍️ Writing Tip:
Don’t make the mistake of measuring your draft against someone else’s book.
You’re comparing their finished product to your raw material. Stay focused on your own page. And if their final work ends up better than your final work? So what. Learn from those who are ahead of you—eventually, they’ll be harder to find.

🎨 Creativity Tip:
Don’t make the mistake of copying instead of creating.
Inspiration is fuel, but mimicry will drain your voice. Every time. Borrow energy, not identity. Not only is creativity good for you, but it is also inspiring to others, ONLY when it comes from your heart and soul.

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
— Theodore Roosevelt
